(Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 3).

2.7. Wire with a diameter of less than 4.00 mm and not have to break down and delaminate during winding, at least eight turns around a cylindrical core with a diameter equal to the diameter of the test wire.

2.8. The microstructure of wire must consist of sorbitol or Trustservice vacation. The presence in the structure of the needle orientation more than the 5th score for steels 65GA, 68GA, 68A and over the 2nd point to become 51HFA and 70HGFA according to GOST 8233, as well as areas of structurally free ferrite not allowed.

2.9. The complete decarburization of the wire is not allowed. Depth of partial decarburization shall be no more:

0.5% — for the valve spring;

1,0% — for springs for other purposes.

2.10. Wire is manufactured in coils with an internal diameter of not less than 400 mm. Coil shall consist of one segment, welding wire at finished size are not allowed. The winding of the wire shall be carried out without entanglement of the coils and to permit free spooling of the wire.

(Added, Rev. N 1).

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire, one assignment, one class, one mark, one precision and one diameter and issued a document about quality that contains:

— trademark or name of the manufacturer;

— designation of wire;

— number of coils;

the weight of the party;

— the batch number;

— steel grade (according to customer’s demands).

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2, 3).

3.2. Surface quality and diameter of the wire is checked for each reel.

3.3. To test a temporary resistance, kinks, twisting, nabivanija from party wire selected 10% of the coils, but not less than five skeins and 2% skeins, but at least two of the skeins to check the microstructure and decarburization.

3.4. The chemical composition of the steel wire certified by a quality document manufacturer of steel, and at the request of the consumer to check one skein is taken from the party.

3.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample.

The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. To check strength, bends, twists, microstructure, and decarburization shall be selected one sample from each end of the strand, to check for winding — up one sample from either end of the strand, for checking of chemical composition — one sample from either end of the strand.

4.2. Diameter and ovality of wire measured with a micrometer according to GOST 6507 in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross-section in at least three areas of a coil.

4.3. Chemical composition of wire check 28473 GOST, GOST 12344 — 12348 GOST, GOST 12350 — 12352 GOST, GOST 12355, 12357 GOST, GOST 22536.0 to GOST 22536.10 or other methods providing the required accuracy.
