1 Scope


This standard applies to refined osmium powder (hereinafter — the OS) intended for the manufacture of alloys, chemical compounds of osmium, industrial products and other purposes.

3 Terms, definitions, symbols and abbreviations

3.1 this standard applies the terminology according to GOST 17527, as well as the following terms with respective definitions:

3.1.1 the document as: Passport, certificate.

3.1.2 impurity: the Inclusion of metallic or non-metallic foreign bodies (particles) of various shapes and sizes.

3.1.3 private party: a Party consisting of a powder of osmium obtained in one technological cycle.

3.2 In this standard the following symbols and abbreviations to indicate the brand of osmium:

OS — osmium;

And refined;

0, 1, 2 — number of stamps corresponding to a particular chemical composition.

4 Technical requirements

4.1 the Characteristics (properties)

4.1.1 Osmium must comply with the requirements of this standard and be made according to technical documentation approved in the established order.

4.1.2 Osmium are made in the form of powder. The powder particle size should not exceed 1.0 mm.

Allowed particles larger than 1.0 mm in an amount of not more than 2% by weight of the party.

4.1.3 Powder of osmium should not contain extraneous inclusions.

4.1.4 Chemical composition of osmium must meet the requirements of table 1.
