1. This standard establishes General requirements for methods of spectral analysis.

2. Analysis of the investigated samples is carried out using the three standards with the use of cast metal or of a synthetic standard samples of the enterprise and standard solutions.

3. The analyzed samples are taken by casting in a metal mold from molten metal or GOST 1209−78*.

4. Standard samples of the enterprise meet the requirements of GOST 8.315−78*. Composition of standard samples of the enterprise establish chemical methods in at least two laboratories according to GOST 1219.0−74-GOST 1219.8−74.

5. Analysis of standard samples of the enterprise for testing and graphing is carried out simultaneously with the analyzed samples.

6. Weighing is carried out with a maximum error of 0.0002 g.

7. Jobs and rules for their placement, utility rooms must meet the requirements of GOST 12.2.032−78, GOST 12.2.033−78.

8. Laboratory spaces must be equipped with ventilation system and to meet the requirements of GOST 12.4.021−75 with the provision of sanitary-hygienic requirements for working zone air according to GOST 12.1.005−76.

9. Electrical installations and electrical appliances used in the process of spectral analysis shall conform to the electrical codes and the requirements of GOST 12.2.007.0−75 and GOST 12.2.007.9−75.

Operation of electrical installations and electrical appliances must be in accordance with the requirements of GOST 12.1.019−79, rules of technical operation of electrical installations of consumers and safety of operation of electrical installations, approved by Gosenergonadzor USSR.

10. Spectrographs and spectrometers must be installed in separate rooms and located not less than 1.5 m from each other. Tripods spectrograph, flames and machines for sharpening carbon electrodes must be equipped with protective screen and local fume extraction.

11. Work tables and fume hood for working with chemicals should have the boards and shall be covered with fireproof materials and materials resistant to acids.

12. Formed in the excitation spectra of the electrical discharges, ozone, carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and applied in the process, the antimony oxide, ethyl alcohol, the oxides of lead are toxic and have harmful effects on the human body. When working with these substances should be guided by the safety requirements according to GOST 12.1.007−76.

13. The content of toxic substances in the atmosphere of working zone shall not exceed: for ozone is 0.1 mg/mГОСТ 9519.0-82 Баббиты кальциевые. Control of content of harmful substances in the air of working zone should be carried out in accordance with GOST 12.1.005−76 and GOST 12.1.007−76.

14. Acetylene cylinders should be placed outside the building in accordance with the rules and requirements for the installation and operation of gas pipelines, approved by Gosgortekhnadzor of the USSR.

Pipelines must comply with the requirements of safety rules in the gas sector* approved by Gosgortekhnadzor of the USSR, GOST 14202−69.

15. Fire safety requirements should correspond to GOST 12.1.004−85. The types of fire fighting equipment (fire extinguishers carbon dioxide type OU-2 according to GOST 7276−77, a box with sand and shovel according to GOST 3620−76), its placement and content must comply with GOST 12.4.009−83.

16. Collective means of protection must meet the requirements of GOST 12.4.011−75, GOST 12.3.002−75 and normative-technical documentation.

17. When working in the spectral laboratory should apply personal protective equipment: robes of cotton according to GOST 12.4.131−83, rubber gloves according to GOST 20010−74*, goggles-type (3N).

For first aid in the laboratory should be a first aid kit with necessary medicines.
