4 INTRODUCED FOR THE FIRST TIME

1 SCOPE

This standard specifies the terms related to the selection and preparation of samples of ferroalloys for chemical and sieve analyses.

Additional requirements are shown in italics.

2 SAMPLING AND SAMPLE PREPARATION

2.1 Sampling — process of sampling.

2.2 a Representative indicator of quality — the content of the element (or elements) or particle size distribution that determine the parameters for sampling and the cost of the Ferroalloy.

2.3 Sample — part of a Ferroalloy selected from the supply, and are representative, in terms of the properties of this supply.

2.4 spot Sample — a quantity of the alloy, taken as a sampling unit at a time from a Packed or unpacked delivery, as well as the amount of Ferroalloy produced by the method of reduction of single spot samples.

2.5 Modprobe — number of Ferroalloy, consisting of two or more spot samples taken from the supply. This refers to the number consisting of spot samples, random separately fragmented and/or reduced arbitrarily as required.

2.6 the combined Sample, the number of Ferroalloy composed of all the point samples taken from the supply. This refers to the number consisting of all spot samples or all modprob, each of which individually randomly fragmented and/or reduced arbitrarily as required.

2.7 Sampling manual sampling performed by the person using the sampling devices, including a mechanical auxiliary device.

2.8 Sampling mechanical sampling produced using mechanical means.

2.9 Sampling random method of selection of point samples in which each part is tested Ferroalloy has an equal probability of being selected.

2.10 systematic Sampling is a practical method of sampling in which spot samples are taken through the set intervals set by weight or time, or place; first sample point within the first interval are selected at random.

2.11 two-stage Sampling — a practical method of random sampling in two stages. In the first stage make a selection of primary units (for example, packaging units or parts delivery). In the second stage, from each selected primary unit of sampling randomly select a few spot samples (secondary units of sampling).

2.12 sample Preparation — preparation of samples for determining quality indicators. It includes the reduction of the samples, crushing, mixing and sometimes pre-drying and can be done in several stages.

2.13 Reduction — the process of reducing the mass of the sample, according to established rules with the aim of obtaining the required mass of sample for testing.

2.14 the Sample reduced sample obtained by reduction.

2.15 the Sample for the test sample ready for detection of chemical or granulometric composition of the delivery or part delivery, prepared from combined samples, each modprobe or each spot samples method established for this type of sample.

2.16 the Sample for the sieve analysis of the sample taken for the determination of the granulometric composition of the delivery or part delivery.
