The delegation from Finland visited Uralelectromed

Last week JSC «Uralelectromed» (part of the metallurgical complex «UMMC») visited the Finnish government delegation, which included representatives of a number of industrial enterprises in Finland (the visit — one of the activities included in the program are now held in the Sverdlovsk region of the international forum «Finnish business in Yekaterinburg «). Today JSC «Uralelectromed», located in the town of Verkhnyaya Pyshma in the Urals — the leading non-ferrous metal plant, which is part of OAO «Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company» («UMMC»). Despite the fact that the plant was put into operation in 1934, now it does not lag behind global competitors in terms of equipment and quality of products. JSC «Uralelectromed» produces mainly refined copper sheet, copper sulphate, and — produces precious and rare earth metals.

The new shop «Uralelectromed», equipped with Finnish equipment, was launched February 29, 2012. His project involved two companies — Finnish «of Outotec» and Russian JSC «Uralmekhanobr» (also part of the «UMMC»). At the moment, the shop produces 150 thousand. Tonnes of copper cathode per year, and, according to representatives of the plant, is the only Russian line with such high-tech equipment capacity electrolytic copper.
