BHP is reviewing the plans for the project

21 October 2017

The Corporation of Hungary from Australia is going to revise their plans. They relate to the second phase of the project construction of the enterprise Nickel West. It focuses on production of sulphate of Nickel. Construction is expected to be completed at an earlier date. Construction work will be conducted in the state of Western Australia, at the plant site in Kwinana for the development of Nickel. The cost of the first phase amounted to $ 43 million. Completion of the first stage is scheduled for April 2019. After its completion the annual production of sulphate of Nickel will be 100 000 tonnes. The demand for sulphate of Nickel is a constant value. This metal is a key element in the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries. Apply these elements in the production of electric vehicles.

The company’s position on accelerating the implementation of the second phase of the project was voiced by Edward Hagel. According to the President, BHP Nickel West, the decision is justified by the increased consumption of sulphate of Nickel. After the second stage of the productive capacity of the plant will be 200,000 tons annually. In the end, Nickel West will take the place of the world’s largest supplier of these products. Hungary also appreciates the opportunities to develop enterprise sulphate of cobalt.

A synergy effect on the plant As with the other Nickel production will allow the enterprise to become less costly. The result of Nickel West will be able to occupy one of leading places among the global suppliers of sulphate of Nickel. Assumes full automation of the new plant. In a function people will enter solely to the delivery of raw materials and work products. Means for loading packaged in bigbagi material.
