Technical characteristic
Be is a hard and quite expensive metal. Its melting point is +1278 °C, its properties are more similar to aluminum than to magnesium, with which it is in the same group. The metal is not very reactive at ambient temperatures, and does not oxidize at temperatures up to 600°C.
