Technical characteristics
Cryogenic corrosion-resistant structural steel 03Х13Н8Д2ТМ belongs to the maraging alloys. It is melted in an induction open furnace in accordance with specifications 14-1-2176-77 and 14-1-1655-75. Hardening at 880 °C gives steel strength σ0,2 ≥ 850 N/mm², σ in ≥ 900. Air hardening at 880 °C followed by aging (temperature 600 °C) for two hours gives a strength of σ0.2 ≥ 950 N/mm², σ in ≥ 1100. Steel is used in the manufacture of power components in welded structures at temperatures ranging from +90°C to -196°C.

Technological processing
The following rolled products are produced: rounds, pipes, wires, sheets, strips. The initial hot forging, rolling and forging process runs at 1170°C and ends at 900°C. This steel is quite easy to cut. It is welded by automatic and manual argon arc welding. The manual arc welding process uses electrodes that have wire rods of EP225 and EP699 grades. The welds are not prone to the formation of hot and cold cracks.
