Introduction

This standard is designed instead an interstate standard GOST 10692−80 to update requirements for acceptance, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of steel, cast iron pipes and fittings to them.

In the standard account of the provisions of the ASTM And 700−05* «Standard practice for packaging, marking and loading steel products for domestic transportation».

Compared to GOST 10692−80 in this standard:

— the terminology is aligned with existing terminology standards in this field;

— requirements to the contents of the acceptance documents (quality certificates, certificates) is replaced by the reference to GOST 31458−2015 «Pipe steel, cast iron and fittings to them. Documents on acceptance inspection»;

— labelling requirements are complemented with modern ways of marking: Virolainen, stamps with rounded profile, in the form of dot-matrix, bar coding, etc.;

— requirements for labeling, packaging, transportation of products for export, given in accordance with contemporary practice;

— added requirements for threaded relief detail, piping and transport packaging for the packing of steel pipes and fittings, storage and transportation of products.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the General requirements for acceptance, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of steel, cast iron pipes and fittings to them.

Additional requirements for acceptance, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of steel, cast iron pipes and fittings should be specified in the order and/or documentation for specific types of products, given their purpose.

for products with outer permanent protective coating, to use methods of handling, excluding damage coverage.

7.1.5 During transportation by water transport is not allowed contact of the products with bilge water and sea water environment.

7.1.6 During transportation air transport products shall only be carried in packages, boxes or containers with a lid.

7.1.7 When transporting goods by any mode of transport is recommended:

— apply appropriate tools fastening products, packages, bundles of goods or containers inside the vehicle preventing them from moving, blows among themselves, on the edges of fences, walls and boards;

to ensure no impact on the products corrosive environments;

— to transport products coated on the outer surface of the preservative coating in order to protect them from atmospheric corrosion;

— pack the product on a flat or leveled with the help of special devices the bottom of the vehicle;

— to prevent uneven distribution of the load and overload of the vehicle.

7.2 Transportation of steel and cast iron pipes

7.2.1 During the transportation of steel and cast iron pipe must meet the following conditions:

— when using cranes for loading and unloading long lengths of pipe to use spreader bars with slings, traverses vacuum or mechanical traverse in accordance with the approved schemes of slinging;

— apply the pipe-laying in piles of wood, polymer (retinochoroiditis) or other strips to enable grip during unloading in the case of laying tubes without lifting clamps;

— when transporting the pipe on the platforms to install side vertical wooden or polymer (rubber composite) stand connected on top of the pipes with a wire;

— do not place pads under the joints, tapered or upset ends of pipes;

— when transporting the pipe by rail to put them on the pad, eliminating the contact of the pipes with the metal elements of the bottom of the vehicle.

7.2.2 Loading or unloading pipes with thread should only be carried out with the set screw of the safety details.

When unloading pipes with thread manually, you need to use a rope loop and roll the pipe on a guide rail parallel to the stack, preventing damage to the threads and thread safety details.

7.3 Transportation fittings

Conditions of transportation of fittings in terms of the impact of mechanical factors should correspond to GOST 23170.
