REPRINTING. November 2009

This standard establishes the conditions and procedure for the application of acoustic methods of nondestructive control at the enterprise, requirements to the construction and preparation of technical documentation control, and training of radiographers.

Classification of acoustic methods of control — according to GOST 18353−79.

1. THE CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURE OF APPLICATION OF ACOUSTIC METHODS OF CONTROL OF THE COMPANY

1.1. The need for acoustic control depending on the conditions of the manufacturing techniques set out in the standards or technical conditions on the test object.

1.2. The basis for the application of acoustic methods of control objects is the availability of data confirming the required accuracy and reliability of the methods chosen. These data can be obtained as a result of preliminary experimental studies conducted by the company or as a result of the practical application of selected acoustic methods on another enterprise for quality control of similar objects.

In this case, the enterprise must be technical documentation for the control and NDT inspectors qualified on the selected acoustic methods of control.

2. CONSTRUCTION AND PREPARATION OF TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION CONTROL

2.1. Newly developed and subject to revision of technical documentation on the control of specific objects develop with the following mandatory requirements.

2.1.1. In the introductory part should be specified to control which objects are covered by this documentation, within the public enterprises and the ministries (departments) it acts on the basis of what materials composed, as well as a list of defects subject to detection in the objects in the selected acoustic methods.

If the method of control a number of similar objects, must be specified the maximum size of number.

2.1.2. In the section «Equipment» shall include:

type (brand) used equipment and peculiarities of its operation;

types of converters and similar devices for obtaining information;

the samples (standard samples), supporting the device hardware settings to check the basic control settings;

the order and method of tuning equipment.

When using non-standard test specimens, and accessories must be given the necessary data for their manufacture. If the test specimens are controlled by objects, what should be the recommendations for their selection and certification.

2.1.3. In the «ready for inspection» should be specified:

the position of the object in which to exercise control;

order of operations the preparation of the test object;

temperature requirements of the test object, the quality of the surface on which will be located transducers or similar devices for obtaining information;

ways to ensure acoustic contact and the contact used in this environment;

the order placing equipment and testing prior to inspection;

requirements to the environment and ways to address its instability.

2.1.4. In the section «inspection» should be specified:

the main parameters of the control;

the sequence of application of the selected acoustic control methods and their variants;

diagrams and scan parameters;

the frequency of inspection of the main parameters in the process control;

signs of defects in the indicator readings of the instrument;

characteristics of detected defects and methods of their determination;

the order of execution of final operations showing the methods of cleaning of parts and Assembly units from the contact environments and protection from corrosion, the sequence of bringing the equipment to working condition before the inspection.

2.1.5. In the section «Assessment of the quality of the product and making the results of the control» must be specified:

the quality evaluation system of the object according to the results of control;

limit values defined by the (measurable) characteristics of the defects, due to the adopted evaluation system;

conventions of detected defects;

the form of the document, which record the results of the inspection.

The document shall specify the following information:

main technical characteristics of the test object;

the inspection location;

the symbol (index) of the document on the basis of which held control;

the results of the validation of basic control parameters;

the results of the control and schema areas of object control, in which left defects to follow up on them indicating the major defined characteristics;

areas of object control, not subject to control because of their failure to comply with the requirements specified under «ready for inspection»;

registration number of equipment and facilities;

signature of radiographer.

2.1.6. In the section «safety Requirements» shall specify the requirements with which compliance is mandatory when working with control objects in the enterprise selected acoustic methods.

In development of requirements should be guided by the applicable rules of operation of the equipment used.

3. THE TRAINING OF RADIOGRAPHERS

3.1. Training of radiographers conduct business or organization, permission of the head of the Ministry (Department).

3.2. The training program must include theoretical and practical courses in industrial acoustics, sound control.

3.3. The theoretical course should contain questions on:

the main technological operations of manufacture and operation of particular facilities, as a result of violations which may occur defects;

elements of the General theory of non-destructive control;

physical principles applied acoustic methods;

the types of acoustic detectors and their operation;

types of acoustic transducers, their characteristics and applications;

different types of defects, their measured characteristics;

metrological support of acoustic control;

assessment methods characteristics of acoustic flaw detectors and transducers;

application of various acoustic methods;

the technology of acoustic testing of specific items, quality verification which the operator specializiruetsya;

safety acoustic control.

3.4. Practical training should include skills manual for flaw detection equipment, the ability to use existing all-Union and branch normative-technical documentation on acoustic methods of control.

3.5. Upon successful passing of the exams awarded the title of radiographer in acoustic non-destructive control with the results of an identity with the provision of the right to control a specific group of objects.

3.6. The radiographers are systematically working on acoustic monitoring, are subjected to the verification tests at least once a year.

Note. As an exception, the radiographers working systematically according to the acoustic control of a particular feature and proven by highly qualified specialists, the decision of the qualification Commission may be extended for a certificate of control without conducting the next test.

3.7. NDT inspectors-having a break in the work on noise control for more than a year, deprived of the right to perform the inspection until completing a full course of study in accordance with the requirements of the PP.3.2−3.6.
