This standard applies to cored wire designed for mechanized arc welding of surface layers with special properties.

1. BASIC PARAMETERS AND DIMENSIONS

1.1 a. Accuracy of manufacturing wire is divided into two classes: 1, 2.

1.1. The diameter of the wire and limit deviation shall be as specified in table.1.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Cored wire shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.

2.2. Cored wire consists of a metal shell and powder filler.

2.3. The surface of the wire must be without dents, tears, rust. Longitudinal risk and allowed traces of drawing lubricant.

2.4. Powder filler should fill the wire with no gaps and leaks.

The ratio of the mass of powder filler to the weight of the wire, expressed in percent, is called the fill factor.

The difference between the largest and smallest values of the fill factor of the wire powder filler should be not more than: 4% for wire of the 2nd class and 3.5% for wire of the 1st class.

2.5. Chemical composition of deposited metal (second and subsequent layers) must comply with the requirements of table.4.

Notes:

1. The symbol of the brand of wire consists of indices PP (cored wire) and NP (surfacing); following the NP index numbers indicate the average mass fraction of carbon in the deposited metal in hundredths of a percent. The figures following the letter symbols of the chemical elements represent average mass fraction of the element in percent. The lack of numbers means that the average mass fraction of element is not more than 1.0%. In the legend the marks of the wire with an average mass fraction of up to 0.8% silicon, 0.1% manganese in the deposited metal letter symbols of chemical elements are not prefixed.

2. Chemical elements contained in the deposited metal, indicated: X — chromium, — tungsten, silicon, T — titanium, M — molybdenum, N — Nickel, G — manganese, P — Bor, f — vanadium, B — niobium, And nitrogen.

3. Brands for wire PP-NP-25Х5ФМС, PP-NP-35В9Х3СФ, PP-NP-45В9Х3СФ phosphorus content in the deposited metal is determined by the requirement of the user.

2.6. The hardness of the deposited metal (second and subsequent layers) in the reference Annex 2.

2.7. Relative consumption wire consumption per 1 kg of deposited metal, is given in Appendix 3 for reference.

2.8. In the deposited metal when welding with wire of type G, and should not be slag inclusions or pores larger than 1.5 mm. stripped by sanding the surface of the deposited metal with an area of (1000±50) mmГОСТ 26101-84 Проволока порошковая наплавочная. Thus, if the pores have not disappeared, the wire must be heated according to claim 7.2.

When welding with wire f pores and slag inclusions are not allowed.

When welding with wire and brands PP-NP-200Х15С1ГРТ, PP-NP-250Х10Б8С2Т, PP-NP-200ХГР, PP-NP-80Х20Р3Т, PP-NP-150Х15Р3Т2, PP-NP-350Х10Б8Т2 Pets grid of small cracks. Spalling of the deposited layer are not allowed.

2.9. Surfacing work shall be performed in accordance with the requirements of GOST 12.3.002−75 and «Sanitary rules during welding, surfacing and cutting of metals» N 1009−73 approved by the Ministry of health of the USSR.

2.10. Wire coils in the coils. Each skein must consist of a single segment wire. The dimensions of the coils are given in table.5.

Allowed the wire to be wound on drums or in coils according to GOST 25445−82.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of the same brand, same diameter, same raw material and decorated with a single document about quality that contains:

trademark or name of the manufacturer and trademark;

symbol wire;

batch number;

the net weight of wire in kilograms;

chemical composition of deposited metal;

stamp of technical control;

the date of manufacture.

3.2. The weight of the batch of wire should be from 100 to 20000 kg.

3.3. To check the quality of flux cored wire taken from the party:

to check the surface quality, homogeneity of the fill wire with a powder-filler, sizes of wire and coils — 3% by weight of the party, but not less than five skeins, reels or coils;

to check the chemical composition and hardness of deposited metal, the relative flow of the wire, the number of pores and slag inclusions — single coil, drum or reel.

3.4. The relative expense of the wire and the hardness of the deposited metal is determined by the requirement of the user.

3.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators, repeat tests are carried out at twice the number of coils, reels or coils of wire that has not been subjected to testing. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. The surface quality of wire checking without the use of magnifying devices.

4.2. Wire diameter is measured with an accuracy of at least 0,01 mm measuring instrument corresponding accuracy in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross section wire not less than two sections of a coil, reel or coil.

4.3. The diameter of a coil is measured with an error not greater than 5 mm, a measuring instrument corresponding accuracy.

4.4. To determine the fill factor of the wire powder filler selected from each of the test skeins cut one sample with a length of 120−150 mm. the Sample is weighed with an accuracy of at least 0.01 g, is opened, carefully cleaned the shell from the filler powder, then weigh the shell and for each sample determine the fill factor by the formula

4.5. Chemical composition of weld metal is determined according to GOST 11930.0−79 — GOST 11930.6−79, GOST 11930.8−79 — GOST 11930.11−79, GOST 12344−88, 12345−88 GOST, GOST 12346−78, 12347−77 GOST, GOST 12348−78, 12349−83 GOST, GOST 12350−78, 12351−81 GOST, GOST 12352−81, 12354−81 GOST, GOST 12356−81, 12357−84 GOST, GOST 12359−81, 12360−82 GOST, GOST 12361−82, GOST 18895−81 or other methods providing the required accuracy.

4.6. Hardness of deposited metal is determined by the method of Rockwell (GOST 9013−59) or the method of Brinell (GOST 9012−59) as the arithmetic mean of at least three measurements. Allowed to use other standard methods of hardness measurement.

4.7. The size of pores and slag inclusions determined with an error of no more than 0.1 mm with loupe LI-3−10ГОСТ 26101-84 Проволока порошковая наплавочная. Технические условия (с Изменением N 1)GOST 25706−83. To determine the size of pores and slag inclusions allowed the use of other methods and means of measurements, providing the required accuracy.

4.8. To check the relative flow of the wire, the chemical composition and hardness of the deposited metal should be surfacing on plates of steel grade or St3kp St3ps, st3sp or GOST 380−71. The smallest size plate 60x150 mm in width and not less than 14 mm.

For wires of type C and d surfacing should be done in three layer and f — layer four submerged rollers of a width of 12−18 mm and a length of 100−120 mm. For wires of type G as a protective gas should be applied to carbon dioxide. The welding should be performed with direct current reverse polarity, specified in table.6.

4.9. To check the presence of pores, inclusions and hardness of the weld metal should be processed by grinding.

4.10. Samples for chemical analysis are taken by drilling or milling. For ease of sampling allowed the annealing of the deposited metal according to the mode: heating to a temperature of 880−900 °C, exposure for 1 h, cooling at a speed of not more than 40 °C/h to 200 °C, then air cooling.

A sample for chemical analysis grades of wire PP-NP-200Х15С1ГРТ, PP-NP-250Х10Б8С2Т, PP-NP-80Х20Р3Т, PP-NP-150Х15Р3Т2 and PP-NP-350Х10Б8Т2 taken away by draining (when overlaying the second layer with a sharp tilt of the sample fused metal of the weld pool on a copper plate, then crushing the fused metal produced grains for chemical analysis).

4.11. To determine the relative consumption of wire and wire weigh plate before and after overlaying with the error not more than 1.0 g and determine the mass spent on the welding wire and the mass of the deposited metal. After surfacing before weighing with rollers and plate carefully remove spatter and slag crust.

The ratio of the mass of wire consumed to the mass of the deposited metal is a relative consumption of wire.

5. MARKING, PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

5.1. For each coil, reel, spool of wire, attach the label, which indicate:

trademark or name of the manufacturer and trademark;

symbol wire;

batch number;

the date of manufacture.

5.2. On the sides of the barrel are labeled as a, which specify:

trademark or name of the manufacturer and trademark;

symbol wire;

batch number;

the net weight of wire in kilograms;

the date of manufacture.

5.3. Transport marking — according to GOST 14192−77 with application of manipulation signs «Afraid of dampness» and «Caution, fragile."

5.4. Coils, reels or coils of wire packaged in drums, manufactured according to normative-technical documentation of the manufacturer, the bottom and cover of which are fastened by folding. The height of the barrel should be from 250 to 500 mm. the diameter of the barrel for wire up to a diameter of 3.60 mm inclusive should be from 350 to 400 mm, for wire diameter over 4.00 mm from 480 to 650 mm. gross Weight of packaged products must be from 40 to 100 kg.

5.5. Sent to the far North regions and equated cored wire must be Packed and transported in accordance with GOST 15846−79. In this case, each barrel is Packed in a wooden crate type V-1 according to GOST 2991−76.

Boxes with barrels allowed to transport packages formed on the flat pallets according to GOST 9557−87, GOST 9078−84, or other regulatory-technical documentation. Dimensions of packages — according to GOST 24597−81. Funds bonds — according to GOST 21650−76. The formation of packages according to GOST 26663−85.

5.6. By agreement between manufacturer and consumer wire transporterowych packages formed on the flat pallets according to GOST 9557−87, GOST 9078−84, or other regulatory-technical documentation. Bond in packages is carried out with the steel wire according to GOST 3282−74 or tape according to GOST 3560−73 with the use of gaskets. Overall dimensions of the package — according to GOST 24597−81. The formation of packages according to GOST 26663−85.

Transportation of wire in packages, stowage and securing must be in accordance with the rules of goods carriage applicable for the relevant mode of transport.

It is allowed to transport wire in universal containers according to GOST 15102−75, 20435−75 GOST, GOST 22225−76.

5.7. Cored wire must be transported in covered vehicles by any kind of transport in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to each mode of transport.

Transportation of the wire for railway transport is carried out carload or small shipments.

5.8. Cored wire should be stored in packaging manufacturer for storage group 1 (L) GOST 15150−69.

6. MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

6.1. The manufacturer guarantees that the flux-cored wire requirements of this standard if the purchaser respects the conditions of storage and use.

6.2. Guaranteed storage life of wire — 12 months from the date of manufacture of the wire.

7. APPLICATION NOTES

7.1. Calcination of the flux-cored wire before applying is not mandatory. The calcination is carried out in case of occurrence of pores in the implementation of control surfacing.

7.2. Mode annealing: heating to a temperature of 240−270 °C at a speed of up to 100 °C/hour, aged for at least five hours, air cooling.
