6 Methods of control and testing

6.1 Inspection the surface of the belts and bands is carried out visually without the use of magnifying devices.

6.2 the thickness of the ribbon and strip are measured with a micrometer according to GOST 6507 with lever or micrometer according to GOST 4381.

The thickness of the tape or strip is measured at a distance of not less than 100 mm from the end and not less than 10 mm from the edge with a width of more than 20 mm For strips and strip width of 20 mm or less, the measurement is performed in the middle.

Measuring the thickness of the tape or strip is carried out at three sites: at both ends and in the middle of three measurements in each plot at a distance of 0.5 m from one another. Final result for the test taking the arithmetic mean at each site.

6.3 the Width and length of strips and bands are measured by Vernier caliper according to GOST 166, measuring with a metal ruler according to GOST 427 or metal measuring tape according to GOST 7502.
