This standard applies to cold rolled strips and bands of lead brass, is designed for precision instrumentation.

Requirements PP. 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.7, 2.8, 2.10, 2.13, 5.2, 5.5 and, in sect. 3 and 4 are mandatory. Other requirements of this standard are recommended.

1. ASSORTMENT

1.1. Thickness and width of strips and the maximum deviations thereon shall be as specified in table. 1.

Note. Soft, semi-rigid strip with a thickness of 5.0 mm and a width of 150 mm and a thickness of from 5.5 to 8.0 mm and width from 170 to 180 mm are made without trimming.

The size of the bands in parentheses, in new development do not apply.

1.3. The length of the strips should be for thicknesses up to 0.50 mm, inclusive at least 10 m; for thicknesses of 0.55 — 2.00 mm — not less than 5 m.

Each party is allowed tapes with thickness up to 0.50 mm, inclusive, in length from 1 to 10 m, tape thickness from 0.55 to 2.00 mm with length from 1 to 5 m in an amount of not more than 15% of the party.

At the customer’s request tape thickness up to 0.50 mm inclusive manufactured length less than 20 m, tape thickness from 0.55 to 1.00 mm inclusive manufactured length less than 10 m, tape thickness from 1.05 to 2.00 mm produce length less than 7 m. it allowed the presence of strips with thickness up to 0.50 mm, inclusive, in length from 10 to 20 m of ribbons with thickness from 0.55 to 1.00 mm inclusive in length from 5 to 10 m, tape thickness from 1.05 to 2.00 mm in length from 5 to 7 m in an amount of not more than 15% of the party.

Length of strips should be not less than 1 m presence of bands with a length of from 0.5 to 1.0 m in an amount of not more than 10% of the party.

At the request of the consumer, ribbons and stripes, cropped length are not allowed.

By agreement with the consumer allowed the presence of bands with a length of from 0.5 to 1.0 m in an amount of not more than 20% of the party.

1.5. Extra hard tapes is manufactured with a thickness to 1,2 mm inclusive, extra hard strips up to 2.5 mm, inclusive.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Tape manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner, from brass grade LS 63−3 according to GOST 15527−70.

2.2. The surface of the ribbons and strips must be free from contamination, hinder inspection must not be captured, delamination, bubbles, cracks, rough scratches and nicks, pits and foreign inclusions.

On the surface of the belts and bands are allowed some minor surface defects, not outputting to the tape at reference sweep for tolerances for thickness.

Allowed color of a tint, local redness and minor darkening of the surface of ribbons and bands.

At the request of the customer can be the surface quality of the strips and stripes set to the samples approved in the established order.

2.3. The tape should be trimmed evenly and must not have significant burrs and warpage.

Wavy, wrinkled and ragged edge is not allowed. Only small undulations, disappearing with a control curve.

Allowed local chipped along the edge to a depth of 3 mm in an amount of not more than one 1 meter of tape, and up to two 1 m strips, and chips and cracks, not an output tape for limit deviations on width.

2.2, 2.3. (Changed edition, Rev. No. 2, 3, 5).

2.4. Bars must be straightened, the deflection should not exceed 7 mm per 1 m of strip. The waviness of the bands visible to the eye, is not allowed.

2.5. Camber strips and strips must not exceed 4 mm per 1 m length. By agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer, the camber strips shall not exceed 3 mm per 1 m length.

2.6. Tape should be wound in coils with inner diameter 350 — 400 mm.

By agreement between manufacturer and consumer tape with a thickness of 0.7 mm are allowed to be wound in coils with an internal diameter of not less than 60 mm.

2.7. Tape and strips produce a soft, semi-hard, hard and extra hard.

2.10. The mechanical properties of the strip shall conform to the requirements specified in table. 4.

As required for solid ribbon and strip ordinary strength elongation δ5 should not be less than 5%.

2.11. Kink bands in a solid and particularly rigid conditions must be fine-grained, without delamination and porosity visible to the naked eye.

At the request of the consumer the nature of the break is determined on samples agreed between manufacturer and user.

2.13. The grain size of strips and stripes in a soft state should not exceed 50 microns (0.05 mm).

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. Tape take parties. The party should consist of strips or bands of the same size, one state of one material and precision manufacturing. The party must be issued a document about quality that contains:

trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;

symbol products;

the number and the weight of the batch;

the results of the tests (at the request of the consumer);

the number of seats.

Allowed to issue one document about the quality on some ribbons and strips of the same size, one state, one precision manufacturing, shipped to the same consumer, indicating the batch number.

The weight of the batch should not exceed 3,000 kg.

3.2. Control the appearance and sizes of ribbons and bands should be subjected to every roll of ribbon or each band.

3.3. The number selected for control of temporary resistance, relative elongation and the grain size of the ribbons and stripes and nature of kink bands is determined depending on the mass of the party at the table. 5. Determination of the grain is carried out at the request of the consumer.

3.4. To control the chemical composition of the party taken two rolls of tape or two strips. On the manufacturer is allowed to inspect the chemical composition of the molten metal.

3.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators (except for size and appearance), according to him, a second test of the doubled sample taken from the same batch. The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. For the tensile test from each selected roll of tape or strip cut selected one sample. Sampling is carried out according to GOST 24047−80.

Tensile tests carried out according to GOST 11701−84 the samples of a type I or II: for strips of thickness 0.5 mm and strips with thickness of 3.0 mm or less, with b0 = 20 mm, for strips of thickness less than 0.5 mm, l0 = 4b0,b0 = 12.5 mm. tensile Tests strips of a thickness more than 3 mm is carried out according to GOST 1497−84 on samples of type I or II with b0 = 20 mm.

4.2. To test fracture sample incision across the width of the strip to a depth of 1/3 of the thickness, then clamped in a vise and evenly without twisting bent in either direction until fracture.

4.3. The thickness of the ribbon and strip are measured at a distance of not less than 50 mm from the end and not less than 10 mm from the edge (with a width of more than 20 mm). The thickness of strips and strip width of 20 mm or less, measured in the middle. Measurement shall be both ends of the tape and the middle part in three places. For the final testing result should be the arithmetic mean at each site. Thickness measurement is carried out with a micrometer according to GOST 6507−90 or GOST 4381−87 and width by Vernier caliper according to GOST 166−89. Allowed to use other tools that provide the necessary measurement accuracy.

4.5. The selection and preparation of samples for chemical analysis is carried out according to GOST 24231−80. To determine the chemical composition of each selected roll of tape or selected strips taken one sample. The alloy’s chemical composition should be determined according to GOST 1652.1−77 — GOST 1652.13−77 and GOST 23777−79. Allowed to use other methods of equal accuracy specified in the standards. If there is disagreement in the assessment of the chemical composition analysis is carried out according to GOST 1652.1−77 — GOST 1652.13−77.

4.6. The looking at the strip party, presented for acceptance, is produced without the use of magnifying devices.

4.7. Grain size is determined according to GOST 21073.1−75 on the samples in a plane parallel to the direction of rolling.

To determine the amount of grain from each selected roll of tape or selected strips taken one sample.

4.8. The camber of the strip or band is measured according to GOST 26877−91 in one place on any area of the roll or strip. Allowed to measure the camber using other methods providing the required accuracy.

4.9. The deflection is measured according to GOST 26877−91 in one place at one metre length of the strip. Allowed other methods of measuring deflection, ensuring the necessary measurement accuracy.

4.10. Waviness of the edges of the tape check bending it around a mandrel with a diameter of 100 — 120 mm. the Coil is considered usable if the waviness in bending disappears.

5. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

5.1. Rolls of ribbons with thickness of 0.8 mm or less, wrapped in paper, Packed in tight wooden boxes of types I, II and III according to GOST 2991−85. The coils are laid wood chips and protects the tape from damage. Dimensions of boxes — GOST 21140−88 or according to normative-technical documentation.

Coils of strips with thickness more than 0.8 mm connect a steel tape not less than 0,215 mm according to GOST 3560−73 or wire with diameter not less than 1 mm according to GOST 3282−74, wrapped in synthetic fabric or non-woven materials, ensure quality safety tape, according to normative-technical documentation.

Strips tied in bundles by steel tape not less than 0,215 mm according to GOST 3560−73 or wire with diameter not less than 1 mm according to GOST 3282−74.

Allowed to use other materials that do not deteriorate the quality of the packaging.

Weight of cargo must not exceed 80 kg.

Allowed the shipment of rolls of tape and bundles of strips, wrapped in paper or cloth containers according to GOST 18477−79 without packing in boxes or crates. Rolls of tape and bundles of strips should be laid and reinforced so that it is eliminated they move inside the container during transportation. Packaging must provide protection of cargo from damage during transportation, subject to multi-tiered load the car to full capacity (loading capacity).

The package needs to be formed into transport packets. Packaging is carried out on pallets according to GOST 9557−87 or without pallets with the use of bars not less than 50 mm, with the piping in the longitudinal and transverse directions with wire of diameter not less than 2 mm according to GOST 3282−74 or tape not less than 0,330 mm according to GOST 3560−73, the bonding ends of the wire strand, not less than 5 turns, the tape is in the castle.

5.2. Each roll of tape and a pack of strips should be attached a label, which indicate:

trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;

symbol products;

batch number;

stamp of technical control or the technical controller.

5.5. Transportation of tapes and strips is carried out by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.

5.5. Transport marking — according to GOST 14192−96 with application of manipulation sign «Protect from moisture».

5.6. Rolls of ribbons and packages of strips should be stored indoors on racks or shelves and need to be protected from mechanical damage, moisture and active chemical substances.

Before removing the packing tape and strips should be designed to align their temperature to the room temperature for 1 — 2 days. Not allowed in the winter time to unpack the tape and strips outdoors.

Under specified storage conditions consumer properties of strips and bands are not changed.
