This standard applies to metal (consumable) electrode with rutile coating grade ANO-4 in diameter 4 and 5 mm Э46 intended for electric arc welding of low carbon structural steels.

The specified electrodes in the prescribed manner has the State quality mark.

1. DIMENSIONS

1.1. Dimensions of electrodes shall be as specified in the hell. 1 and in table. 1.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. The type electrodes ANO-4 shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard, GOST 9466−60 according to technical documentation approved in the established order.

2.2. The mechanical properties of the weld metal, weld metal and welded joints, chemical composition of weld metal shall conform to the standards specified below:

2.3. The surface of the metal terminals must be clean and smooth, without cracks, delaminations, captured, sunsets, shells, dents, scale, rust, oil and other contaminants.

On the surface of the metal rod allowed the risks of scratches, local Rabina and individual dents. The depth of these defects shall not exceed the limit deviation for wire diameters specified in GOST 2246−70.

2.4. The cutting angle of the rod should be 80−90°.

2.5. The deflection of the rods after cutting should not exceed 1 mm.

2.6. The coating of the electrodes should be durable, dense, free of cracks, pores, scratches, swellings and lumps not stirred components.

In the manufacture of the electrodes on the production lines, equipped with furnaces, chain conveyors, permitted traces of the circuit (local indentation) depth not more than ¼ the thickness of the coating in an amount of not more than four on the electrode.

Bullies are allowed no more than one electrode to a depth of ¼ the thickness of the coating.

2.7. The coating must be relatively of the rod concentric. The difference between the thickness of the coating (Fig. 2) depending on the diameter of the rod electrode should not exceed the values given in table. 1.

2.10. The coating of the electrodes must be moisture proof and have no signs of failure after exposure to water having a temperature of 15−25 °C for 24 h.

2.11. Welding-technological properties of electrodes should meet the following requirements:

a) the arc should be easy to ignite and burn stably during welding on AC or DC of either polarity, on the modes specified in table. 2.

b) coating of the electrodes must melt uniformly without forking pieces of the coating and without the formation of the «hood» that prevents continuous electrode;

In welding of technological samples permitted separate inclusion of no more than three 150 mm length of the fracture (Fig. 3). The size of the inclusions shall not exceed 1/3 of the height of the seam.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. The electrodes must be made parties. Each batch should consist of electrodes of the same diameter made of the same technological process of components of the same composition. The weight of the batch shall not exceed 20 tons

3.2. To check the compliance of the electrodes with the requirements of this standard, each batch is subjected to acceptance tests.

In doing so:

external examination and measurement;

check the quality of the coating;

control of raznoshennoy thickness of the coating;

control of welding-technological properties of electrodes;

analysis of the chemical composition of the deposited metal.

3.3. Visual inspection and subjected to a measurement of 0.5% of the electrodes of the party selected from a variety of places, but not less than 10 electrodes.

3.4. From the party of the electrodes adopted under paragraph 3.3, should be selected:

a) to check the strength of the coating, surface conditions, moisture resistance of the coating mass, eccentricity — at least 5 electrodes from each tonne of electrodes on each type of test;

b) to verify the weldability and mechanical and other tests — 0.1% electrodes from the party, but at least 40 of the electrodes.

3.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators for him to repeat the test at twice the number of samples. The results of repeated tests are final.

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. The inspection electrodes are produced without the use of magnifying devices.

4.2. The deflection rods check the utmost caliber.

4.3. The length of the electrodes check the measuring instrument with an accuracy of ± 1 mm.

4.4. The amount of raznoshennoy thickness of the coating is determined in three locations that are offset from each other by 50−100 mm in length of the electrode and at 120° around the circumference. Metering is produced as shown in hell.4.

4.5. The mechanical properties of the deposited weld metal and the welded joint is determined according to GOST 9466−60.

4.6. Welding-technological properties of the electrodes is determined according to GOST 9466−60.

4.7. Welding and welding test specimen is performed at a temperature not lower than plus 5 °C in the modes specified in table. 2.

4.8. Check the chemical composition of the weld metal and a weld metal produced according to GOST 2331−63 or GOST 2604−44.

4.9. Samples for chemical analysis of the weld metal and weld metal are selected according to GOST 7122−54.

5. MARKING, PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

5.1. The electrodes are marked on the end of the heat-resistant green enamel or applied to the surface of the coating type and brand of electrode.

5.2. The electrodes are Packed in cardboard boxes of grade B or GOST 7933−56 or bundles wrapped in waterproof paper GOST 8828−61.

Cartons or packs of electrodes should be Packed in wooden boxes according to GOST 8872−63 or in boxes of cardboard of a thickness not less than 2.5 mm.

5.2.1. The mass of the electrodes, Packed in a cardboard box or in moisture-proof paper must not exceed 8 kg.

5.2.2. The mass of the electrodes Packed in wooden boxes must not exceed 50 kg, carton 30 kg.

5.2.3. When the supply of electrodes to areas of the far North, the Far East, Siberia, coastal regions with high humidity each box or pack of electrodes should be attached to a bag made of polyethylene film according to GOST 10354−63 or polyvinylchloride film according to GOST 16272−70 and are hermetically welded.

5.2.4. When you export packaging electrodes shall conform to the requirements of the conditions of supply of goods for export, approved by the Decree of the USSR from January 14, 1960

5.3. On each box or bundle must be affixed a label containing the following information:

a) the image of the State seal of quality according to GOST 1.9−67;

b) name of the organization, which includes the manufacturer;

C) name or trademark of the manufacturer;

d) the type, grade, diameter of the electrodes;

d) number of this standard.

Note. On the electrode packaging for export, must be specified the type of electrodes according to the international standard ГОСТ 5.1215-72 Электроды металлические марки АНО-4 для дуговой сварки малоуглеродистых конструкционных сталей. Требования к качеству аттестованной продукцииISO;

e) the batch number and date of manufacture;

g) the recommended modes of welding current;

h) mechanical properties of weld metal or weld metal in accordance with the requirements of this standard.

5.4. On each box or carton must be affixed a label or stencil applied to the following data:

a) the image of the State seal of quality according to GOST 1.9−67;

b) name of the organization, which includes the manufacturer;

C) name of the manufacturer;

d) the type, grade, diameter of the electrodes;

d) batch number and date of manufacture;

e) the net weight;

g) the number of this standard.

5.5. On each box, bundle, box Packed electrodes should be applied to the warning signs according to GOST 14192−71 corresponding to the values of «Caution, fragile» and «Afraid of dampness».

5.6. Each batch of electrodes should be provided with a document certifying the conformity of the delivered electrodes to the requirements of this standard. The document must be specified:

a) the national quality mark;

b) name of the organization, which includes the manufacturer;

C) name of the manufacturer;

g) the designation of the electrodes;

d) the batch number; date of manufacture;

e) the net weight of the batch;

g) test results;

h) the warranty period.

5.7. The electrodes should be transported in conditions that protect them from damage and moisture.

5.8. Electrodes should be stored in closed, ventilated rooms with relative humidity above 80%.

6. MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

6.1. The electrodes should be taken technical control of the manufacturer. The manufacturer must guarantee the conformity of the electrodes to the requirements of the present standard if the purchaser respects the conditions of use and storage.

Warranty period of storage and operation of installed 6 months from the date of manufacture of the electrodes.
