Introduction

In the text of this standard the following changes were made compared to the applied international standard:

— introduced additional sections: «Normative references» and «Methods of control»;

— section 4 (table 1) included all samples of the precious metals, established by the RF Government Decree dated 18.06.99 N 643 «On the procedure for the assay and marking of articles of precious metals», as well as samples of alloys based on platinum, palladium and gold, installed GOST 30649−99.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the samples of alloys based on precious metals (excluding solders) recommended for use in the manufacture of jewelry.

3 Terms and definitions

This standard applies the following term with the appropriate definition:

3.1 alloy (fineness): the Minimum content of precious metal measured in parts per thousand by weight of alloy.

4 Technical requirements

4.1 Set minimum value of samples. Tolerances in the direction of reduction is not allowed. Samples of alloys based on precious metals shall conform to the requirements of table 1.

4.2 Brand, chemical composition, properties of alloys based on precious metals recommendations for use (technological properties) for the samples shown in table 1, is given in GOST 30649**.
