Designation

Name The value
Designation GOST Cyrillic Л68
Designation GOST Latin L68
Transliteration L68
The chemical elements Л68

Description

Brass L68 is used: for the manufacture of semi-finished products (strips, sheets, strips, tubes, wire); the various parts by means of deformation in the cold state (cold heading and deep drawing); round drawn thin-walled tubes; drawn and cold-rolled pipes used in heat exchangers; wire screens; radiator strips.

Note

Simple (double) brass.

Cu is the basis.
According to GOST 5362-78, the total mass fraction of normalized impurities should be ≤ 0.20%.
According to GOST 15527-2004, GOST 2208-2007 the amount of other elements should be ≤ 0.30%. In brass, the mass fraction of nickel is allowed up to 0.30% due to the mass fraction of copper, which is not taken into account in the sum of other impurities. For antimagnetic brass, the mass fraction of iron should not exceed 0.030%. In the brass intended for the manufacture of special-purpose products, the mass fraction of the elements should not be more: iron - 0.070%, antimony 0.002%, phosphorus 0.005%, arsenic 0.005%, sulfur 0.002%; the sum of other elements ≤ 0.20%.
