1 Scope


This standard applies to strip of silver solder, used for soldering and tinning in a variety of industries, including instrument making and jewellery manufacture.

3 Terms and definitions


This standard applies the following terms with respective definitions:

3.1 strip: Flat rolled product of rectangular cross section, uniform thickness of 0.10 mm or more.

3.2 dent: Local deepening of various sizes and shapes with sloping edges.

3.3 pinholes: a Defect of the surface in the form of a single blind or group of point indentations.

3.4 captivity: the Defect of the surface in the form of delamination azkabanu shape, elongated in the warp direction and United with the base metal on one side.

3.5 stratification: the surface defects in the form cracks on the edges and the ends of the sheet.

3.6 flaw on edges: the surface defects in the form of rupture of the metal at the edges of the strip.

3.7 traces of Stripping: the surface defects in the form of areas with high surface roughness formed after the Stripping of the sheet of abrasive tool.

3.8 crack: a Defect of a surface, representing a rupture of the metal.

3.9 scratch: the surface defects in the form of indentations of irregular shape and an arbitrary direction.

3.10 color tint: Defect formed on the smooth surface of the bands by forming a thin transparent surface oxide layer and light interference in it.

5 Technical requirements

5.1 Main parameters and characteristics (properties)

5.1.1 Strips from silver solders (hereinafter strip) shall conform to the requirements of this standard and be manufactured according to the technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.

5.1.2 thickness of the strips and limit deviations for thickness shall conform to the values specified in table 1.

Note — By agreement with consumer it is allowed manufacture of strips of different width and length, and/or other extreme deviations.


Allowed in the party random width and length of strips: not more than 15% of the batch weight.

5.1.5 Chemical composition of the strips should comply with the requirements of GOST 19738.

Note — By agreement with consumer it is allowed manufacture of strips of the other solders based on silver.

5.1.6 Strip manufactured in hard (unannealed) condition.

5.1.7 the surface of the strips should not be captured, cracks, delaminations, and foreign inclusions.

Allowed color of a tint, local darkening lanes, and surface damage (dents, scratches, nakoly, traces of Stripping), not deducing strip for the limit deviation on thickness.

5.1.8 Strips should be trimmed evenly and must not have flaws on the edges.

5.1.9 Physical-mechanical properties of strips are given in Appendix B

5.2 Labeling, packaging

5.2.1 At the corner of each strip labeling, comprising:

— the brand of solder;

— the batch number;

— trademark of the manufacturer.

Allowed not to perform the marking of strips with thickness less than 0.3 mm.

5.2.2 stack of strips, wrapped in paper according to GOST 8273, must be Packed in wooden or plastic boxes (containers) or padded plywood strips and Packed in cloth bags.

The free space in the box (container) is filled with soft packing material to protect the strips from mechanical damage.

Can be applied to other types of packaging and materials to ensure the safety lanes during transportation and storage.

5.2.3 On each drawer or attached to the bag tag point:

— the name of the consumer;

— the net mass, g;

— gross mass, g;

— the parcel number.

Additionally, the tag may contain other necessary information (for example, the value of the parcel, the name of the manufacturer and his address, registry, prints of the seals, the index of the storeman-packer, a stamp of technical control etc.).

Allowed transport marking under GOST 14192 with the indication of manipulation sign «Fragile. Caution."

5.2.4 gross Mass of the packing space should not exceed 15 kg.

5.2.5 Boxes (bags) sealed or sealed with seals (stamps) of the manufacturer. The seal (stamp) needs to have a clear impression.

5.2.6 Each party bands accompany a document about quality that contains:

is the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;

— the symbol of the band;

— the batch number;

— chemical composition;

— a lot of bands in the party, g;

— the month and year of manufacture;

— stamp of quality control.

6 acceptance Rules

6.1 Strip take parties. The party should consist of bands with one brand of solder, one size. The weight of the batch is not limited.

6.2 Checking the surface quality and dimensions shall be subjected to not less than 25% of the bands of the party, but not less than three bands.

6.3 To check the chemical composition for compliance with 5.1.5 the consumer selects one strip from the party, manufacturer — a sample from each heat.

6.4 Upon receipt of unsatisfactory results according to the chemical composition it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample or the sample taken from the same batch. The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.

6.5 delivery Condition is ensured by the fabrication technology.

6.6 Physico-mechanical properties of strips are given in Appendix B are for reference purposes only and are not controlled.

6.7 Control marking is subjected to each lane, checking the packaging and the gross mass of each packaging place.

7 control Methods

7.1 the thickness of the strips is measured at a distance of not less than 25 mm from the vertex of the angle and not less than 15 mm from the edge of the micrometer according to GOST 6507. The width and length of strips to measure metal ruler according to GOST 427.

Allowed the use of other measuring instruments providing the required accuracy.

7.2 Verification of the surface quality of the bands is carried out by visual inspection without the use of magnifying devices.

7.4 Chemical composition is determined by GOST 16321.1, 16321.2 GOST, GOST 16882.1, 16882.2 GOST, GOST 16883.1, 16883.2 GOST, GOST 16883.3, GOST 22864.

Allowed to determine the chemical composition by other methods, certified in the prescribed manner and satisfies the requirements of this standard.

7.5 Marking and packaging checks visual inspection.

8 Transportation and storage

8.1 Transport, storage and accounting of strips is carried out in accordance with the order of storage, transportation and accounting of precious metals.
